Cinematic Wedding Film at James Ward Mansion | Westfield, NJ

This couple was different!!

There are weddings you show up to and do your job. And then there are weddings where you feel the energy the moment you walk through the door, and you know the film is going to be something special.

Rachel and Ian's wedding at James Ward Mansions in Westfield, NJ was that kind of day.

From the start, these two had a way of pulling everyone into their orbit. Their families came from different worlds — a Jewish tradition on one side, a Brazilian warmth on the other — and somehow, the day held both perfectly. That's the kind of wedding that reminds you why this work matters.

### The Setting ###

The Place

James Ward Mansions sits in the heart of Westfield, NJ — a grand, mansion-like structure that feels both historic and alive. The ceremony and reception both took place inside, with the kind of architectural details that make a cinematographer's job feel effortless: natural light pouring in through tall windows, elegant rooms that carry their own character, spaces that feel like they have stories to tell.

Before the reception, we took the couple — and their bridal party — to a nearby park for portraits. There's something about Westfield that lends itself to that. Green, open, easy. Rachel and Ian were completely at ease in front of the camera. That comfort comes through in every frame.

### The Film ###

Filming a cross-cultural wedding like this is one of the reasons I do what I do. The challenge isn't just capturing moments — it's capturing the feeling of two families becoming one. Rachel and Ian gave us everything to work with.

Their film is a reflection of who they are: joyful, warm, real.
